Black Duck review

"When Ruben and Jeddy find a human corpse washed upon the Rhode Island shore, their lives have taken a sharp swerve onto a road filled with broken pieces of glass, liquor bottles. They both must take sides of the law since they are now caught up with the rum-smuggling business. But when Ruben finds out he has half of a fifty dollar bill-- the ticket to claim a great load of liquor imported from Canada-- he is wanted by all of the smuggling business. Soon a gang from New York gets a hold of Ruben to get the ticked out of him. No one can save him now but the felonious, rum running crew of the Black Duck!

Skulduggery Pleasant review

Skulduggery Pleasant- Derek Landy There was nothing that could possibly take her away from her boring life, except maybe a fire-throwing skeleton... Stephanie leaves her old life and embarks on an enthralling adventure with the intriguing Mr. Skulduggery Pleasant to regain the possession of the scepter before the nefarious Serpine does. Derek Landy's "Skulduggery Pleasant" is a fast paced adventure with never-ending action and humor; A great read for anyone looking for adventure, mysteries, and magic. But beware... Skulduggery doesn't let you put this book down.......submitted by Nayan Sanjiv, 8th grade
